Blonde folled
right along with the rest of the “B” girls, even though she was
off to a rough start. Kidding right at a year old with large twins
and a generous amount of milk, Blonde had some mineral imbalance
issues and it took us most of the year to get those resolved and
her back up on her feet. When we did though, was it ever
worth it. Blonde was 2 x’s 1st and 2 x’s
2nd, we are probably most proud of one of those
2nd place wins however as it was at the NAILE show when
she looked just stunning, also taking 2nd udder. Blonde
was also part of our 1st place Dairy Herd,
2nd Sr. Get, and Supreme Best Three Females in
Show! Not bad for a lowly yearling! As a 2nd
freshener, Blonde again took her job a little too seriously and
delivered triplets, again taking a while to get into shape, always
placing well at the shows but not able to push out the tough group
of three year olds we had for GCH. She did impress several
people though, scored a 90 on her LA and is several visitor's
favorite doe here! In 2008 Blonde had a beautiful pair of
twin does by Magic, and loads of milk again. She always
placed in the top of the line and again is always one of the
visitor's favorites as well as our's. Blonde reminds
me the most of her dam Barbie in her build and disposition,
especially that back and rump. Blonde's production is right
up there with her big sisters with a two year old 305
over 3100lbs! Unfortunately, like her sister Bacardi, Blonde
contracted mastitis (while dry though) and has lost production in
half of her udder. We will try to treat her during her dry
period but do not expect for her to regain that lost half.
Her milking yearling daughter in the Here Be Goats herd is
beautiful! We look forward to many more offspring from
Blonde.
