Brooke had an incredible year in 2006, one of those dry yearlings
that has been a pleasure to own, breed, show and just to have in
the barn to look at. She has been undefeated in her class except
for Nationals, where she stood 3rd in a class of 50+
dry yearlings. She was 4xʼs Jr. GCH including the KY State Fair
and the NAILE and one time BJDIS. She kidded with an equally
beautiful mammary system this spring and two gorgeous doe kids.
What she lacked was milk production. Coming from this doe line
that just did not make any sense what so ever. She has two full
sisters, Beauty and Blonde that will be over 3000lbs this year and
Belle is already over 4000! The fourth sister, Bacardi made a
record of 2300+ as a first freshener last year and was on her way
to a really impressive lactation when was hit with mastitis. So
with these factors in mind, Brooke was given a reprive! We don't
see how she can't milk and have dry treated the udder and she will
kid again in the spring. She is a long, level, stylish, extremely
well balanced doe, with tremendous width and correct feet and
legs. Brooke looks just like the other full sisters and has grown
into a large two year old. Here is hoping she cooperates in the
production department next year! I will point out that this was
about the same level that Tenley gave as a first freshener and as
a third freshener is up to over 2400lbs.
