Element was picked on his strong pedigree. We had always
admired the Pearl Valley “Lilac” doe line and when we saw that her
Tierro grand daughter was bred to Free Radical, we had to add a
buck! It goes without saying all of the beautiful offspring that
Free Radical has produced, but perhaps his best known daughter, SGCH
Cherry Glen Radical Gesture, the 2006 National GCH is his best
representative. We have also seen numerous crosses with Tierro that
turned out beautifully so this seems to be a “magic cross” of
sorts. Element qualified for the young sire development program
with ADGA.
We are extremely pleased with Element’s first kids, we
retained two doelings from him in ’06. Koala was the most showy kid,
only being removed from 1st place once in 5 times out and
being Reserve Jr. Champion at the KY State Fair Exhibitor’s Show.
We have used Element heavily this season.
