While we were in Florida
for a friend's wedding, we were fortunate enough to visit the Glen Mythos herd
of LaManchas on a spur of the moment trip. We had been looking for an
outcross sire and Stormbringer kept popping up by different sources that I
asked what they had seen out there. Were they ever correct! While
Stormbringer himself is an incredible individual, scoring an impressive 93
EEE, more importantly he is passing on these qualities to his offspring! We
didn't intend to bring home a Jr. herdsire at that point were really just
looking. Then when we found out that SGCH Valhalla--a Stormbringer
daughter-- had a gorgeous son available by CH Helm's Deep--also a Stormbringer
son--we couldn't pass that up! The GM herd shows amazing consistency in true
dairy type with the most phenomenal front ends that I have seen on LaManchas.
Tall, uphill, elegant does, flat boned with good feet and legs and lovely
mammaries that milk down with soft buttery texture that is just perfect!
Our heart felt thanks goes
to Mara Ricci, DVM and Bret Gaboardi for allowing this handsome fellow to come
to Kentucky! We are so excited to incorporate his genetics with our lines,
they should blend wonderfully! Vidfraegr, aka "Handsome" is very tall, long,
dairy, wide in the rear, with that extreme front end that comes in his line.
He will see a lot of use this fall.
