We had admired the
picture of beautiful FDF Match on the Here Be Goat's web site for
the last couple of years. She reminded me a whole lot of our much
loved and missed Barbie. When Kelley started picturing Match's
lovely daughters, I kept thinking how perfectly she would cross
with our Act... I even mentioned it, casually of course, but when
Kelley saw the DVD of the 2006 National show she said she just
loved Beauty, Belle and Brooke and wanted to try for one of her
own!! I was so excited picturing all of the potential Match x Act
kids to arrive in January and spoke up for any extra kids.
When HE arrived, it was a individual HUGE appearance! Magic
caused lots of trouble getting here for poor Match when he arrived
at 15lbs. It was decided he would be retained for a while in FL,
but later Kelley decided he could come live at Shady Lawn Farms!
We feel he is definitely the heir apparent for his sire. We have
waited years, literally for a Act son to keep in the herd. While
there have been some fine prospects, Magic is just outstanding!
He is long, tall, level, has his dam's outstanding front end and
the tightest toes we have seen on a young buck! Not to mention a
rear leg set to drive a truck through. With a pedigree full of
GCH's and LA's of 91 & 92's I think our excitement is well
founded.
We
used Magic heavily last fall and loved the kids that we got from
him. One daughter, Magic Desire, was 4th
place Intermediate kid at 2008 National show!
The Magic kids are level, wide, smooth and excel in general
appearance and feet and legs. Much like the Act
kids. We truely believe that Magic is going to be a
very close breeder to his sire.
Magic went back to Florida to Here Be Goats on lease
for the fall of 2008 to return some of these wonderful
genetics. He will be used more next
fall.
Semen
is available from the farm at $25/straw limited
quantities.
