Everything Nice is just that. She excels in general
appearance being board level across her topline with an
impressive carriage to herself, wide rear, wide front, smooth
blending, good feel to her skin and ribs. She has a nearly
flawless mammary system, seamless in the fore and extremely high
and wide in the rear. I had one judge say when she was a jr.
“do you think a doe could be too level, because I don’t think I
have ever seen one this level!” Nice was Jr. Champion in Ohio
(dry leg) in ring 1, and Reserve in the 2nd ring to
Candle at her first show, was 2nd and Reserve Jr
champion in ring 1 at KY State Fair. Nice took Jr. Champion at
the NAILE show in November of 2005!! She did not get out
much in 2006 as we had lots of two year olds, though I was told
I made a wrong decision by leaving her home from Nationals—very
probable. This year Nice had a single, beautiful buck kid and
just did not come into the production to match her large, deep
body and was carrying more excess fleshing than we like as
indicated by her LA score. It was decided to dry her off and
show some of the more competitive does. We look forward to
having a more normal kidding and getting her in shape and in the
ring.
Nice's dam was one of my all time favorite Act
daughters, earning her 1st milking leg as a yearling
in an AOP division in TN with 28 milkers, she died with 2
milking legs and would have easily have finished. This is a
high appraising very correct family as indicated by the LA
scores above.
