We AI'ed PA back to
Distraction to repeat her gorgeous daughter SG Walnut Fork
Distracted Issues 10*M LA 3-02 91 EEEE, owned by Walnut Fork
Alpines. We were thrilled to get Paradise! We showed
Paradise as a kid and she was 3x 2nd 1x
3rd. Paradise was shown
twice as a bred dry yearling, taking 2nd behind our Koala in ring
1 and Reserve Jr. Champion. She was then Jr. GCH in ring two under
Daniel Young earning her dry leg. Paradise freshened in late
May with a gorgeous mammary and we thought she was all legs, just
too immature. True to her genetics, the longer she was fresh
the better she looked. At LA in September I was thinking as
I presented her that this was probably the best yearling we had
ever bred, she was given an 89---the best score she could of
course receive as a yearling. Paradise is tall, long, so
very level, great feet and legs and a beautiful mammary. She
also has a baby doll personality, she thinks she is a LaMancha and
of course being black what could be better?? We are very
excited about her future!
Paradise was bred AI for 2008 and aborted twin does six
weeks early. She came into milk but was very uneven so we
dried her off to prevent any damage to her udder. Paradise
must have had some lingering infection from aborting and we have
had trouble getting her to settle for 2009. Out of
frusteration after she was short cycling repeatedly we let
Berretta (LaMancha) cover her figuring what the hey?
Needless to say, it now appears she has settled!
