We had cut our Alpine
herd tremendously in 2006. Our son Dylan had kept a small
core of does for his herd and was looking for one really nice
mature doe to add. After asking everywhere and not finding
any available that pleased him, he was looking over the pens of
Sunshine Farms at the 2006 National Show and found Tirria. He was
smitten and immediately asked his Dad and I our opinion. It was
his choice, his money and now his doe! I am pleased with
Tirria and think that he made a great decision. She is a very
powerful, deep bodied, gorgeous uddered doe with just about the
best disposition that we have had on an Alpine. Not to
mention a multiple generation SG doe, she LA'ed 92 to further
establish her correctness. Tirria freshened this year
milking an impressive 16lbs and looked smashing. She picked up two
GCH legs and was BUOB 4 x's, 1st aged doe 5 x's. Tirria also
LA'ed 92 EEEE again, this time as an aged doe making it a
permanent score!
Both Tirria's
doe and buck kid by *B Willow Run WRAW Jasper were retained in the
herd from '07. The doeling, Tahiti was 12th Intermediate kid
at Nationals, 1st at State Fair, and 2nd at the EX
Show. The buck kid Treason remains as our herdsire and has
been used heavily.
Tirria had did not
settle in 2008, absorbing her pregnancy and then becoming
cystic. It does appear that she has settled for 2009 and we
are anxious to get her back in the show ring for that final
leg.
