Zap is a very linebred, long bodied, long bone pattered doe that
looks just like you would expect from her lineage! I first saw Zap
as a very tiny kid at One Oak Hill along with her lovely dam and
wanted them both very badly, but it was not in the cards. Fate took
over when her purchaser, Kelley Neilson in FL decided to part with
her. We were thrilled to add her to our herd!! We already had a
pretty tough group of dry yearlings, they had not been beat last
season. So imagine our surprise when we went to the state fair and
on Zapʼs first outing out of two rings and 14 in the class she took
1st in both rings and Jr. champion in the second ring to
get her dry leg!! Zap has the most amazing rear leg set and width of
the entire group and really struts her stuff in the show ring. When
she came fresh as a two year old she did not disappoint us either,
filling it with an extremely wide well attached mammary. Zap was 1st
in both rings again at KY State Fair w/1st udder in
2006! Never standing below 3rd at the local shows, we
were very proud of her. This year as a 2nd freshener Zap looked
even better, picking up a second GCH leg under Jean Lucas at the
Athen Ohio show and LA'ing 90! Again, Zap flipped with herdmates
for the top three positions in the show ring throughout the show
season. We thought Zap looked superb at Nationals and were
disappointed when she didn't make the cut, the photos above were
taken as she left the ring...oh well another day another show!
After Nationals Zap started to go uneven so was dried off early and
didn't make it to State Fair or NAILE.
